On August 9th, 2013, I had my first dose of poison…the first infusion of chemotherapy into my veins...to try to rid my body of the cancer that was then threatening its very existence.

One year and one day later - on August 10th, 2014 - I will ride 100 miles on my bike with my brother Andrew and 24,998 of our closest friends.

It's called RideLondon and goes along same course as the 2012 Olympics - from the Olympic Stadium, through Surrey, ending in the shadow of Buckingham Palace.

I’m doing it to say F-U to cancer, for certain.

But also to raise money for an organization that provided me with invaluable support during my illness…and does so for anyone else who asks.

If you go on Amazon and search under “lymphoma”, there are no books to tell you how to deal with it.

And if you google it, you find all sorts of crazies spouting horror stories.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation is a great resource for the REAL DEAL – how to pick a doctor and a treatment regimen, what to expect, how to talk to your kids about it, and much more.

And that’s only their side mission.

Their main mission is supporting research that will hopefully find a cure to this disease that is expected to kill more than 20,000 people in 2014 in the US alone.

Both missions are close to my heart.

I would be most grateful for your help.
