Previously untreated follicular lymphoma patients may benefit

Danish biotech Genmab announced on August 26th that its Phase II study of ArzerraTM (ofatumumab) in combination with cyclophophamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone (CHOP) given to previously untreated follicular lymphoma patients had positive results. In patients receiving 1000 mg of ArzerraTM, the overall response rate (ORR) was 100% including 38% with a complete remission (CR) and an additional 17% with an unconfirmed complete remission (Cru).

This positive news followed Genmab's and partner, GSK's announcement on August 17th that another study of ArzerraTM with rituximab in refractory follicular lymphoma patients had disappointing results with only 10% showing a complete response in the 1000 mg treatment arm of the study.
