LRF Financial Assistance Programs

The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) offers a financial assistance program for people currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma. Through this program, LRF may be able to assist with quality-of-life expenses.  In addition to the Patient Aid Grant Program outlined below, LRF offers the T-Cell Lymphoma Transportation Assistance Fund, which can assist T-cell lymphoma patients with transportation-related expenses for T-cell patients currently undergoing treatment.

Patient Aid Grant Program

LRF's Patient Aid Grant program provides limited financial assistance to lymphoma patients who are uninsured or have adequate medical insurance but struggle to pay for expenses related to their lymphoma treatment, such as medical bills, transportation costs to get to and from treatment, lodging expenses during treatment and childcare costs while they are at treatment.

Application Instructions

Applicants applying for the Patient Aid Grant must:

1. Complete an application and demonstrate a financial need.
    Maximum allowances on assets (savings, CD’s, stocks, retirement, etc.) are as follows:
         • Single Individual $15,000
         • Couple $20,000
         • Family $25,000

2. Be a first time applicant to this program
3. Be currently undergoing lymphoma treatment as certified by their physician.

Please note:

  • The Patient Aid Grant program does not cover everyday living expenses, such as food, rent or utility bills.
  •  Applicants to the Patient Aid Grant program are not eligible to apply for a grant through the LRF T-Cell Lymphoma Transportation Assistance Fund.
  • Patient must be a legal resident receiving treatment in the United States

T-Cell Lymphoma Transportation Assistance Overview

The Lymphoma Research Foundations (LRF) T-Cell Lymphoma Transportation Assistance Fund grant program provides financial assistance to T-cell lymphoma patients who are uninsured or have adequate medical insurance but struggle to pay for transportation costs (e.g., mileage, parking, tolls, gas, train tickets, etc.) to get to and from treatment.
 
Application Instructions
Applicants applying for the T-Cell Lymphoma Transportation Assistance Fund Grant must:
1. Complete an application and demonstrate a financial need.
2. Be currently undergoing T-cell lymphoma treatment as certified by their physician.

Application Process

Applicants applying for the T-Cell Lymphoma Transportation Assistance Fund Grant must:
1. Applicant requests application from the LRF Helpline by emailing Helpline@lymphoma.org or calling 800-500-9976
2. Applicant submits completed application to LRF (Note: Grant applications will be reviewed by the Grant Review Committee)
3. Applicant will be notified of Grant Review Committee decision
4. LRF will mail a check made payable to the individual in the amount of $500
   a. Note: Applicants may re-apply for funding every six months; the maximum award to an individual is $1,000 per twelve month period
