Deanna Roberts

Deanna Roberts is D.R. Roberts Event Management Inc. founding CEO and grew the company to profitability since its inception in 1997. She continues to work in the day-to-day operations of event planning with various clients around the country. Roberts has been spotlighted in Ebony, Yahoo! News, American Urban Radio Network, Black News.com, Great Women of Style and the East Bay Business Times.

Roberts graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, with a concentration on business administration and marketing. During her time at Berkeley, Roberts served as President of the National Association of Black Accountants and a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

Upon graduation, Roberts worked at United Parcel Service as an Account Executive where she developed direct marketing and promotional strategies for the district and corporate offices. On weekends and nights, Roberts received practical, hands-on experience with the Golden State Warriors and immersed herself in various local events. After realizing her passion for event planning and marketing, she opened D.R. Roberts Event Management Inc. in Oakland, CA.

Today, Robert's has successfully planned and publicized events ranging from weddings to inner-city children's activities to corporate and sporting events. D.R. Roberts Event Management Inc. provides extensive community outreach, working with the Oakland Raiders, NBA All-Star Weekend, celebrity golf tournaments, First Friday's, City of Oakland, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Auto Grid, 100 Black Men, Gatorade Junior Training Football Camps, to name a few.

Roberts, is Co–Partner of First Fridays San Francisco Bay Area for the past 20 years. First Fridays is an African American Professional networking organizations. First Friday's mission is to network professionals and build a stronger community.

In her spare time, Roberts can be found training for triathlons and marathons, which she has successful completed seven. She also teaches event planning courses for inspiring event planners. Roberts also mentors youth and sat on the board of the Junior Center and currently on the board of the YMCA Urban Service of West Oakland, CA.
