Take Action: Tell Your Representative to Support the PACT Act!

As members of the lymphoma community already know, a comprehensive approach is necessary to treat a person's cancer as well as their treatment side effects. Representatives Lois Capps (D-CA) and Charles Boustany (R-LA) have introduced HR 2477, the Planning Actively for Cancer Treatment (PACT) Act of 2013, to ensure that cancer patients have access to comprehensive cancer care planning. The care planning process would enhance the quality and coordination of care by giving the patient succinct and written treatment plans to explain their diagnosis and treatment options with multiple providers.

Remember: lawmakers will not support this legislation unless they hear from you. Many members of Congress may not even know what a cancer care plan is – and it is up to LRF advocates to educate them on this important issue!
