Robert “Bob” Werner is a Metallurgical Engineering graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Following his Military service, he spent his business career of 45 years working at Werner Co., the family business. Bob held a wide range of responsibilities eventually becoming Board Vice Chair and Senior Vice President-Technology. He was active in several Trade Associations where he served as President of one and Chairman for 20 years and then Chairman-Emeritus of the major Extusion Technology seminar of another. Here is where he learned how to get competitors to work for a common cause.

In retirement, Bob chose to volunteer at nonprofit organizations and spent time to become better educated in this area. His interest was in applying his business experience to the nonprofit world. Bob eventually became active in twelve different nonprofits where he served in leadership positions as Chair, President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Over the 25 years of this service, Bob developed skills in financial resource development (“a/k/a” fundraising), board and non-profit management, and best practices. His experience over a number of non-profit organizations enabled him to effectively mentor several CEOs.
